The British Embassy in Manama is responsible for developing political, economic and defence relations between Bahrain and the UK. We work to help British companies succeed in Bahrain and provide a wide-range of consular services to British Nationals. The Embassy is divided into a number of different teams:
The Chancery performs the political functions of the Embassy, and handles political relations between the British Government and Bahraini Government. The Defence Section is responsible for liasing with Bahraini defence organisations to take forward issues such as defence co-operation and training initiatives. The UK Trade and Investment team represents UK interests in Bahrain on all aspects of trade, and trade policy and investment in Britain. The Consular Section deals with all consular issues, including lost passports, registration of UK nationals and cases of distress. For further details of consular and passport issues. The Press & Public Affairs Section informs people in Bahrain about British policies and values. It provides services for local and international media, teachers, students, civil society and others with an interest in Britain. The Management Section is responsible for the day to day running of the embassy and looks after staff and all Embassy property, as well as controlling the Embassy’s budgets.
